In line with commitment to scientific development, power saving and lowering emission, to develop cyclic economy, COFCO Biochemical invests 370 million RMB for four waste water treatment plant equipped with modern equipment. With daily treatment capacity is at 40k tons/day, COD treatment at 500 tons/day, it also produces 20 M3 methane/day, 100 tons ammonium sulfate/day and 140 tons feed/day as by products.
With strict standardized management on environment protection process, COFCO is certified by ISO14001 Environment Protection Management system in 2000, its Environment Protection Department is responsible for EP regulation and operation procedure’s compiling and auditing, EP management system’s building, supervision of effluent at various discharging point, site inspection of leaking, overflowing and other problem, and technical control of EP treatment, promoting clean production and providing technical service and guarantee for the company’s in-code effluent discharging. With sound and complete monitoring and systematic control measures, reliable and consistent waste water treatment system is made available, meanwhile, the EP facilities also produces ammonia sulfate, feed and methane as by products, methane is used as fuel for boiler, canteen, and lithium bromide after de-sulfiting process, which brings certain economic returns to the company. Finally, pollutant discharged is minimized as part of the effort to Environment Protection and Huai River Protection.
